Yesterday was my birthday. My 25th birthday*, in case you’re wondering. I had super grand plans to make this birthday cake from Bon Appetit:
But a few things happened.
1.) My babysitter made me these yummy double chocolate cookies.
2.) One of my best friends brought me a Nothing Bundt Cake. (Have you had one of these? They’re amazing!)
3.) My husband brought home my most favorite birthday cake in the world from a local bakery — chocolate raspberry from Three Women and an Oven.
And, after all of that, I got the stomach flu. On my birthday.
So we are currently the foster home of a bazillion delicious baked goods, which it is killing me not to eat, but I can’t stomach any of it. Sweet irony.
So I’m off to sip tea and toast and look longingly at all of my birthday goodies. Meanwhile, if you’re in need of chocolate — I’m your girl.
*this is a blatant lie.
