This was a super fun Sunday morning project with my three kiddos. It’s quick, easy and not messy — three major wins in my book. And (bonus) these taste pretty good too! The caramel apple candy melts are a great contrast to the salty pretzels.
Here’s a sentence I thought I’d never write: These eyeballs are addictive!
Grab some waffle pretzels, some Wilton candy melts (see below for source), some red sprinkles or sanding sugar and some candy eyeballs (sources below) and you have yourself some built-in entertainment for the kiddos — and a great midnight snack for you!
Ingredients
Waffle pretzels
Green Wilton candy melts – caramel apple flavor (Amazon)
Red sanding sugar
Candy eyeballs (they have them at Michaels, Target or Amazon)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Lay the pretzels out on a silpat or parchment-lined cookie sheet. Put one candy melt on top of each pretzel. Place cookie sheet in oven for 4 minutes, just to slightly melt candies.
Remove from oven and quickly sprinkle sanding sugar over candy melts and place an eyeball in the center of the melt. Let stand for 30 minutes to set.
