Root Beer Float Milkshakes

Confession: Sometimes I sit in the car with my kids, driving them to one of their bazillion activities, and think do you ever stop talking?

Because they don’t.

Ever.

Stop.

But I love them. And in this case, I’m glad their random stream-of-consciousness chatter led me to this experiment. We had a five-minute conversation yesterday about how the best part of a root beer float is when the ice cream melts and you get that yummy root beer milkshake drink. We talked about the torture of waiting for the ice cream to melt so we could enjoy the “melty root beer milk” (as my kids call it).

It occurred to me that no one should have to wait for melty root beer milk.

Instead of making a traditional root beer float, I decided to throw both ingredients in the blender and give it a whirl. This results in instant melty root beer milk, or, as normal people call it — a milkshake.

Good stuff. Grab your ice cream and root beer and give it a try. You may never go back to the traditional float!
