I posted this recipe on Babycenter when I was pregnant with Baby C and it became one of my most popular pins ever. I wanted to share it here because it’s so darn good. I’m mixing up a batch for our 4th of July celebration (because what’s more American than a chocolate chip cookie??) and I thought you might want to do the same.
These are actual cookies, not raw dough, but they’re more than just chocolate chip cookies — they taste like cookie dough. Warm, melty cookie dough.
I heart these cookies.
(My booty does not heart these cookies.)
Oh, well. Make them.
(Seriously…I’ll be your new favorite person.)
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 tablespoon sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line baking sheets with silpat or parchment.
Combine flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda in a medium bowl.
In a mixing bowl, beat both sugars and butter until creamy. Add egg and vanilla and mix till combined.
Gradually add flour mixture into egg mixture and beat until combined. Dough will be stiff. Gently fold chocolate chips into the dough.
Refrigerate dough for 30 minutes (up to overnight) to concentrate flavor and firm up so dough can be rolled. Scoop a tablespoon of chilled dough and roll into a ball. Repeat with remaining dough and place on cookie sheet 2-inches apart.
Bake at 350 for 9-12 minutes, or just until centers are set when you jiggle the pan. Do NOT wait for the cookies to get golden brown, these should be paler than most choc. chip cookies but still set in the center. Centers should be slightly undercooked for the full "dough" effect. Bake one or two first to gauge the right time.
Let cool on pan for a few minutes then remove to a wire rack. Try not to eat them all in two minutes flat. Try.
Makes about 16 cookie bites.
