My Kitchen Looks Like A Food Network Set!

No recipe today, though I’ve cooked (and re-cooked) dozens in the past two days. On Wednesday morning a crew arrived to transform my kitchen into a super fancy food set, so we could film seven video segments for BabyCenter. We were cooking family-friendly meals, so the kids got their fifteen minutes of fame as Mommy’s Little Helpers:

Kate even got the star treatment in the make-up chair.

But the little dude really stole the show when he helped me make (and EAT!) baby food.

We’ve just wrapped the two day shoot and I can tell you I’ve never been more exhausted. So much goes into making these videos — I even had a food prep assistant and stylist — but at the end of the day it’s a LOT of standing around waiting, moving lights, doing a take, trying it again, re-doing it with a tighter shot, doing it again from the top angle, lots and lots of repetition.

On the upside though, I got a kick-ass pair of fake eyelashes!!! I’m still wearing them…ooh-la-la.

Back with more recipes soon. (Right after I take a good long nap!)

  1. Can’t wait to see those. I follow you on BabyCenter and here. I am always on the lookout for more family-friendly (and quick) recipes. In addition to a full time job and four kids, I decided that I wasn’t busy enough and went back to school to complete my degree. So quick, nutritious meals are a must.
You looked beautiful, too. And Kate is so pretty, too. How exciting for you.
