Got Halloween Candy? Make these Double Peanut Butter Krispie Treats!

If you know me at all, you know I turn to rice krispie treats whenever I forget I’m supposed to bring something. It’s a sure sign if I show up with something in krispie form, I likely remembered about an hour ago and threw it together. Sorry. Am I the only one who’s disorganized forgetful a mom? :-)

Luckily, where kids are involved there’s not a more surefire treat. I threw these together at 2pm for a 3:30 soccer celebration and even had time to put some make-up on beforehand. And the boys? INHALED. DEVOURED. Might have broken a record for how quickly they consumed.

These are pretty standard krispie treats, but get gussied up with the addition of peanut butter on the inside and a sprinkling of Reese’s PB cups and Reese’s pieces on the tops. If you’re not a PB fan, you could sub Nutella and a different type of candy on top.

Or you can raid your candy stash and put a whole bunch of good stuff on top!

Fast? Check. Easy? Check. Delicious? Check, check.

p.s. The directions call for making these in a 9×13. I almost always make them in an 8×8 or 9×9 because I like thick, sturdy rice krispie treats.

4 cups marshmallows

1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

6 cups Rice Krispie cereal

1/2 cup Reese’s Pieces

Stir cereal until well coated and then transfer to a greased 9×13 pan, using fingers to push evenly across pan. Allow cereal to cool for a minute and then pour Reese Pieces over top gently pushing them into the cereal. Repeat with the mini Reese cups, allow to cool completely, cut into bars and serve.
